About Us
I have been involved in physical fitness as an aerobics
instructor since 1980. The years since then have shown me what is, and what is not, an effective way to
achieve a 'healthy life style'. This is a difficult goal to reach and is made much harder by the fact that we
are all individuals, and what may work for me does not mean it will work for you.
This website is not going to try and tell you the 'best' way to feel and look better. There is no 'best' way to
achieve your goals of being fit and feeling healthy. If there is any one underlying principle in all the methods
and techniques of fitness, it is the principle of getting out of it what you put into it. A little sweat goes a
long way in insuring your time is being well spent.
For most people the difficult part of any exercise program is finding the time to do it. The best of intentions
can easily become buried in the typically hectic schedule most of us have today. It is crucial to find a time slot
before you begin your program. Your chances of success are significantly increased by insuring you have a regular
time, at least three times a week, and preferably five times a week if you are really serious about improving your
fitness level
I would also strongly advise you to check with your family physician before embarking on any strenuous exercise
program. This advice is especially true for those who have any existing medical conditions or are currently taking
prescribed medication. There are exercise programs that have been designed for people with many different medical
conditions and you should ask your doctor about any special programs that may exist for your condition.
There is no point in a debate between free weights vs. machines...high-impact aerobics vs. low-impact
aerobics...yoga vs pilates...or the many other partisan topics that make for interesting discussions but have
little impact on your fitness. These questions will inevitably be decided by you...the person actually doing the
exercise...as to what is best for you.
I will try to bring you up to date and accurate information about the many ways to achieve good health, the
latest in equipment for the home and gym, the most effective ways to start and maintain YOUR exercise program.
Explore the links we provide to increase your own knowledge of this vast area of interest to one and all.
Most importantly...exercising should never be thought of as a chore. Something to get out of the way or to be
avoided if possible. No surprise that your attitude towards life determines how much enjoyment you get from being
alive. Enjoy your workouts...they will improve both your attitude and your enjoyment of everyday life.
